Small Animal Veterinary Physiotherapy and Hydrotherapy Position
Valiant Veterinary Physiotherapy have a fantastic opportunity for a qualified Veterinary Physiotherapist to join our friendly team at our specialist small animal rehabilitation clinic based in Melton Mowbray.
Our small animal rehabilitation clinic was established by Carol Ann Batchelor in 2017. We work closely with local referring veterinary practices to treat patients as part of a multi-disciplinary team. We see a multitude of referrals from pre and post-operative rehabilitation, orthopaedic and neurological conditions, to fitness for sports/working dogs. We also work with other local businesses to provide Veterinary Physiotherapy services for the dogs in their care. The business has seen continued growth and success over the past five years and we currently have a dedicated team made up of 3 Veterinary Physiotherapists, and 2 Physiotherapy Assistants; who strive to provide excellent clinical services to our patients.
Equipment and facilities include:
Class IV photobiomodulation therapy
Pulsed electromagnetic field therapy
Rehabilitation fitness equipment
Our ideal candidate:
The ideal candidate will hold a BSc (Hons), MSc or PgDip qualification in Veterinary Physiotherapy, have a minimum of 1 years’ experience, but ideally 2 or more years’ experience, working as a Veterinary Physiotherapist, and be a member of either IRVAP, NAVP, ACPAT, RAMP and / or AHPR.
The candidate will ideally have a level 3 or higher small animal hydrotherapy certificate, to include hydrotherapy treadmill. Alternatively, a willingness to obtain their hydrotherapy certificate within the first year of employment.
They will have experience of handling a variety of canine breeds, as well as cats, be passionate about animal rehabilitation, and confident working both independently and as part of a team.
The position is initially for 30 hours per week, with a view to increase to 40 hours once in house training has been completed (hours to include weekday evenings and Saturdays on a rota basis).
Competitive salary of £21,000-27,000+ pro rata per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience)
